TOPLINE: custom footer not showing on all posts and pages. showing only on frontpage.

Hi! having an incredible time going deeper in BLOCKPRESS FSE theme. I can never go back to convoluted ‘classic’ themes.

QUICK QUESTION: a limitation/quirk of Gutenberg? THAT, i managed to create a custom template part (a simplified version of default footer) – it shows in my “template parts” list AND i managed to get it to replace the FOOTER (area in all notice areas) on the Frontpage.

YET: the default footer still shows on ALL other pages and posts!

AS AN UNRELATED COMMENT: I’ve also successfully created a new template (.html) for single.html which works great (i wanted to remove page title)

SUCH a great time with BLOCKPRESS.

OK, so the ONLY question here is…

what is the workaround, or fix for what I do not yet know ~~>>

NEED TO GET MY TEMPLATE PART (custom footer) to automatically show on ALL posts pages and NOT JUST the frontpage?

    SUPER HAPPY ABOUT BLOCKPRESS !!!!!!!!!

    maybe an update soon…?-))

I’ve also tried the gutenbeerg plugin wondering that might help.

    WORKAROUND for NOW:

as, for me, BLOCKPRESS 1.1.1 seems to like default footer (footer.html in /parts folder)
even if I create a new then modified part, it will only be shown ON the frontpage.
i get the default footer (footer.html in parts folder) on ALL other pages/posts.

SO< on my server i copied footer.html as a backup, then, in the EDIT SITE mode i edit the default footer (which is editing footer.html in /parts folder actually)
and it works on ALL pages/posts.

Will discover at some point if it’s a current limitation or bug that i can’t seem to get a newly created (well, a copied and renamed) part to fuction on ALL pages as the footer.
it will only show on the frontpage UNLESS i use default footer edited. (footer.html in /pages folder for blockpress)

At a guess, it’s a Gutenberg issue OR even more likely my lack of knowing more than i know.

WOW – can’t say enough about the value of going deep with BLOCKPRESS and studying FSE ONLY stuff.

Theme has some different headers for different page templates, but footer is the same. So, I think something was wrong

Maybe you changed footer template part for homepage, this is why it’s not as expected
