• I just switched from wordpress.com to www.ads-software.com and I’m trying to recreate the “look” of my old site (thedumbingofamerica.wordpress.com) at my new site (thedumbingofamerica.net). Changing my header in wordpress.com was as simple as uploading an image. I’m unclear how I take the image I uploaded into wordpress.net and getting it in my header. I went to “Edit Themes”, “header-img.php and changed the header location to the name of my uploaded file. However, nothing’s changed on my site. Help!

  • Hi,

It depends on your theme..where it has set the header image path..it should be inside the header.php or style.css where you need to change the header image file path…

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

IF you are using the same theme on your self-hosted blog as you chose on your WordPress blog then the process of uploading your header image should be nearly if not exactly the same.

It would be better to use the functionality of the theme versus recoding the header.php file if all you want to do is change the image like you did at your first blog.
