Custom header.

I’m using the sapphire theme. I’ve created custom header and footer images. I renamed them sapphirefooter.jpg and sapphireheader.jpg and uploaded them to the images folder in the sapphire theme folder. The footer works fine, but I cannot even see the header. It’s there, I can see it in the directory, and I can preview the image in my host’s control panel. I’ve taken it down and uploaded new copies, but to no avail. I have made no changes to any css code at all. I’m at a loss. Any ideas or insights would be greatly appreciated.
