Custom Header graphic versus blog title and SEO

  • In the header of my blog I have chosen to use a custom graphic, versus the text that is the default. In order to keep the text out of the header area, I had to blank it out in the settings area of the blog. If I leave it in there, it will show through the graphic.

    Will this turn off search engines like Google, as there is no blog title, per se? If the text does need to be there, is there a way to get around this, so I can leave my graphic in there?

    Yes. You can CSS to position the text off screen so that it’s available to the engines but isn’t seen in graphical browsers.
