• I am trying to customize the user experience based upon entry URL. Is there some way to accomplish:

A specific header and category template (or custom template) is used throughout the user experience on the blog, specific to that entry URL

Could this somehow be accomplished with separate index pages and CSSs?

I know how to use the template heirarchy to do this by category, but do not wish the base for entry to be a category…

    Please offer any advice!

  • Never with another index.
Do I understand it well you don’t want post template by category?
(for that one there is a plugin: https://guff.szub.net/2005/07/21/post-templates-by-category/)

Do you mean unique single post templates?

    Moshu…

    Thanks for the quick response…

This plugin does partially what I want. If I understand the plugin, it takes the category template and applies it to all single page post views within the category.

This is basically what I am looking to do, except I don’t want it to be driven by the category. I want the user to hit a url and get the information related to my other clients (an advertisement) based upon which site they clicked through…

ie: if they click through from one of my client sites, they would get, brought to you by….and that client (in the header portion), but the actual blog content would always be the same (to which the categories are necessary to be held for).

I thought there is probably some way to create multiple headers and have them pulled by the entry page, depending on where they are coming from, but it would be ideal to be able to use something like the template system so that these could be custom to each situation.
