I can’t seem to get the custom (static) homepage working.
I only have a local setup at the moment, so unfortunately I can’t show you at this time.

But I have made a custom homepage template called “home.php”
I have made a template part file with “content-homepage.php”
    whereto I point in “home.php”.

I have set wordpress to static homepage (home) and custom blogpage (news).
    Hompage.

But somehow my blogpage seems to adapt its styling according to the newly created “homepage” template. Very strange.
    Can someone help me?

  • Hi Rinni,

home.php is a reserved filename in WordPress that will always be used for the blog page. If you rename it to something like homepage.php you should be fine. You’ll need to reassign any pages to the template after it’s renamed.
