    Hi,

I’m not sure i got this, maybe you can help me understand – If I edit the htaccess file, will wordfence override my edits if I choose to use falcon? or even if I just block an IP from the dashboard ?

I was wondering what is the best practice to edit the htaccess by myself while running wordfence – without worrying about overriding stuff.

    Thanks

  • I think as long as you add to the end of the htaccess file you would be ok. We had one user that says the Falcon additions are lost if you toggle permalinks on and off but that usually goes at the start of the file.

The WordPress rewrite engine code goes at the *end* of the .htaccess file. Wordfence Falcon puts its code at the *top* of the .htaccess file.

You are both right, when I put my code at the bottom it stays there after enabling the falcon.
Regarding the permalinks, it seems that after I edit the htaccess with my redirects – they don’t work (getting error 500) until I reset my permalink settings. I can live with that ??

    Thank you

    Not a problem ??
