Custom IDs for groups

    Hi, does this plugin support somehow assigning each group a custom id ?

    I’ve tried exporting and importing where i changed the value for specific label i wanted to change, but no success.

    The idea stands for each group to be assigned to a category.
    With custom id’s it would be for better overview of groups and managment.

  • Sorry, that is not part of the standard features. These ids work like WordPress post ids, tag ids and so on – the only purpose is to have a unique identifier. There might even be gaps in the series.

    I think that exporting, editing the file and re-importing (after deleting the groups) might actually work but everything has to be consistent again after import. You could also search in the options of the database and edit term_groups and accordingly term_group_labels and term_groups_position. But better make a backup first and don’t try it on a live system.

    If you are coding a connection between tag groups and categories, it might be the easiest to create an array that translates one ID to the other.
