    Hello,

Our exhibition space is starting to run two different shows at different times of the day. We really love We’re Open and I’m hoping to find an intuitive way to display this change using the plugin. It might be out of the scope of what it was designed for though.

The schedule is the same each week but the hours for each exhibit differ every day of the week.

Does anyone have suggestions or similar use case?

Without knowing how to achieve this outcome, I could imagine a few possible options. Hopefully one of these could work within the framework of We’re Open.

    1) We list everything together but use Groups and custom labels(if this is possible):
    Examples:
    Tuesday: 10h-23h [group 1]
    Exhibition A: 10h-17h [group 2]
    Exhibition B: 18h-23h [group 3]
    Wednesday
    ..and so on

    Or

    Mon, closed
    Exhibition A: Tues, 10h-17h
    Exhibition B: Tues, 18h-23h
    Exhibition B: We’d, 18h-23h

    2) We find a way to group and list the days/hours of each exhibit separate from each other:

    EG:
    Exhibition A:
    Tuesday, 10h-17h
    Wednesday 18h-22h

    Exhibition B:
    Tuesday, 18h-24h
    Wednesday, 10h-17h

Whether anyone has suggestions or not, I’ll experiment and share my results here for posterity.

    Thank you

@oaimwp This is outside of the current scope of the plugin – it only handles a single location at the moment. Also, I feel adding such functionality may introduce unnecessary complexity for the average user.

However, you could create a type of fix using some creative CSS and JavaScript. I will have a go here and offer some code in a subsequent reply.

Hey, I missed the email notification for your reply. Thank you for looking into it.

We are in fact only a single location. We just had two different shows that happen at different times of the day, not unlike a small single room movie theatre that has two films playing at different times.

This is still something we’re trying to figure out. I’m currently trying to find a way to display two separate columns of time slots per day. One for each show. This will be the clearest for users but possibly complicated to implement without loosing the benefits of We’re Open. I’m fighting to keep it since it’s been so incredibly helpful.

    We could probably parse and display the entries according to our needs if each of the max. three daily time entries had a unique identifier (E.G.: Su1, Su2, Su3, Mo1, Mo2, Mo3, Tu1, Tu2, Tu3, We1, We2, We3, Th1, Th2, Th3, Fr1, Fr2, Fr3, Sa1, Sa2, Sa3 )

I’m not a web developer and the above might be a gross over simplification.

We would happily pay for the development if you see it as a useful feature to have in the plugin. You’re already incredibly generous to make this freely available and support it the way you have.

Just sent you a connection request on LinkedIn to share our website since I couldn’t find a way to PM you on here.

@oaimwp That’s all ok, no rush!

The opening hours are just that – times that the business is running, rather than specific events or locations within a location that could be either active or inactive. This would be a different plugin.

With your situation, I would probably look into something different: an existing or a bespoke [new] plugin that can handle bookings/venues/etc. and then tie this in with the actual sessions you have there. As a developer of plugins, this is something I could assist with if you were interested.

I will check LinkedIn and we can continue this discussion there (my profile). Thanks for the contact request! ??
