• Hello,
I have a multisite that contains 3 sites (all linked to the same DataBase):

    mysite.com
    mysite.com/subsite2
    mysite.com/subsite3

I want to add a custom suffix to the main(default) site to mysite.com/subsite1

and the others one to remains the same
    mysite.com/subsite2
    mysite.com/subsite3

So when the visitors browse trough main site the links has to be instead “mysite.com/page1” -> “mysite.com/subsite1/page1”

    What is the best aproach?
    Thank you.

Maybe you want to leave the main site “hidden”, and create a mysite.com/subsite1?

How do I leave the main site hidden? Without the main site I don’t know how the whole site will function.

You won’t really be able to hide it or even redirect it and still have everything in the network function, hence the quote marks around hidden above. ??

But just because the site exists doesn’t mean the users have to find it easily.

You can’t really do a rewrite or add the “/subsite1” to the end of the main site, because that url is needed for the network to function. Sorry.

So there is no possibility in WordPress to have a Multiple site with this structure?!:

    mysite.com/subsite1
    mysite.com/subsite2
    mysite.com/subsite3

Yes, there is: but all of them have to be subsites. Leave the main site in the network (mysite.com) in place for network functions, but don’t use it otherwise. I suppose you could make it a simple, one page site with links to the subsites…

Thank you very much. I will try as you said.

    Hello again.

    I’ve added a subsite3, now I have:

    mysite.com
    mysite.com/subsite1
    mysite.com/subsite2
    mysite.com/subsite3

Subsite 1 and 2 was created one year ago. Now after I’ve added succesfully subsite 3 I can nont enter in it with the super admin user and passw. I’ve created even new user for the network management of the subsite3. nothing. When I’ve tried to insert user and passw at the mysite.com/subsite3/wp-admin it returns…nothing. No error, no nothing. No user/passw wrong, nothing.

I don’t know what to do…and when I tried to enter at mysite.com/subsite1/wp-amin or
    mysite.com/subsite2/wp-admin it all works….

    Help! ??

Have you tried logging into network admin, go to Sites, open the problem site for editing, go to the users tab, and make sure that you (or one of your accounts) is a user on this site?

    Yes. ??
I also add a new user with Administrator role to subsite3. The same problem. If I want to login in the mysite.com/subsite3/wp-admin nothing happens and it gives back no error. ??

Update: strange, the site is logging in correctly from other browsers then chrome (even I deleted the cache and cookies).

Hmm… I have had issues where Chrome seems to still have some cookie/browser cache info even after deleting the cache & cookies. At least you can get in from another browser.

If you have access to another machine, you could try to log in via Chrome and see if it’s just on your machine.
