My goal is to make a gallery of images that when clicked goes to a specific post (which your plugin does well on its own). But the images have increased in number that I need to paginate the gallery. Which brings me to the problem (only happens when I add a gallery pagination plugin to custom links).

I’ve been trying any and every gallery plugin and each time I do the addition of the pagination plugin disrupts the function of custom links. I’ve even tried using gallery shortcode plugin in hopes to do things manually. Is there a way to make it work?

The closest one seems to be Paginated Effects Gallery plugin, where all the functionality works but the gallery gets destroyed. For example, instead of a 4×4 or 5×6 grid of images some rows only have 3, others only have 2 images, there’s a pattern like flags. I’d be happy if this can be fixed using this added plugin.

Another option in the Paginated Gallery Plugin which shows what I need and does the pagination well but:
    1. when used together any removed imaged from the gallery shows a double image of the next image. (so image was removed but in its place the image of the next picture appears so you get double the next image).

    2. the links to the post (which works well without any other gallery plugin), now links to an attachment of the image and doesn’t go to the post.

I’m also open to using any simple free theme that can do both full width and sidebar if the theme needs to be changed.

    Hoping for some help.

  • Paginated Gallery appears to be replacing the gallery shortcode with its own paginated_gallery function, which does not call the post_gallery filter, which is what this plugin hooks into to swap in the custom links. You’d either need to modify that plugin to include that filter, or contact the plugin author and ask them to do so.

Aside from that, this plugin simply replaces link hrefs, it doesn’t touch layout at all, so those are issues you’d need to resolve separately.

Since the original poster has no further information, and I’m not sure there’s much I can do if other plugins aren’t using the hook this plugin requires, I’m going to mark this as resolved.
