• First of all, thank you for this plugin, it works wonderfully for most sites on my multisite network! Recently though, I ran into a little snag. I have a site that is in English, but the region is supposed to be Ireland. This means ideally I would have a locale of “en-IE” but I can’t figure out how to pull that off using the built-in WordPress language options. Am I missing something or do you know of a way I could pull this off? Thanks in advance for your help!

    Thanks ??

Strange, but it seems there is no en-IE locale at translate.www.ads-software.com.

In the plugin you could use a custom directory for your flags. You can set this in the options of the plugin. I know that is not that cool but at least a workaround.

    Cheers,
    Dennis.

Thanks for the response Dennis. It is really odd to me that WordPress doesn’t have an English:Irish translation. If I do a custom directory for the flags, will it properly set my lang attribute or that just something that WordPress core handles? Also, is there some documentation for how to do the custom flags?

Yes read on here: https://msls.co/ … it is a little bit outdated but should be ok. Let me know if there are further questions.

Thanks again Dennis! I’ll report back here if I figure out a solution I am happy with.

Hi tjdunklee, did you get a solution to this? I have a very similar problem in that there is no Austrian-German de_AT translation.

Hey @peterbisset. I actually ended up downloading the en_GB language files, opening them with Poedit to change the locale, and then saved them as en_IE in my “wp-content/languages” directory. It worked as a temporary fix until WordPress makings an official en_IE translation. Hope that helps. Best of luck to you!

I’ve done the same, works great thanks!
