  • When the iTSec plugin “Hide Backend” feature is NOT enabled, standard WP behavior is exactly as you describe (apart from the 404 error).

“login” is not allowed as the secret login slug and when used in the URL to access the login page (while the “Hide Backend” feature is enabled) will result in a 404 (page not found) with no redirect whatsoever to wp-login.php

So it looks like the “Hide Backend” feature is not properly set/configured.

I’m having a similar issue. I set to a custom slug (not ‘/login’). It was working at first, but today I cannot get into the admin login by any method. I have access to my site files and databases, but not sure where to go or what to do.

First thing to do, as per the forum rules\guidelines, is to start your own topic.

Even though the symptoms seem to be identical to the issue as described in this topic it is in your own best interest to start a new topic.
