Custom magic_fields

Hi,
we have custom fields for user information (i.e. company).
We would like to use them to fill forms fields with default values.
One way I can think of is using magic_fields like {user:first_name}. So in our case something like {user:company}.
Is there a way to accomplish this without changing the caldera plugin code?
Or is there a way to set default values for form fields other than using magic_fields?
