I want my site to look clean and uniform. That being said i also want to use custom menu or a (Dead Page). Then problem im having is when i use a custom menu in-place of a page there is no hover color. for example the about me page is simply that a page and the menu is black in color, when you hover over it will turn to blue. Now the pages that have child pages linked is a little different. If i want all the colors to be uniform i will have the keep the menu as a page rather than a custom menu. As soon as i change it to a custom menu there is no hover color and the menu color is blue not black.
i will leave one menu on my page like this for an example
    https://WWW.aaronrooks.com
Look for the line in blue.
thanks for any help you can give

  • Try using Firefox with the Firebug add-on for this kind of CSS troubleshooting. Or use whatever developer tool is available in your web browser.

    Hi Aaron.
I’m not exactly sure what you’re trying to achieve. It looks like your menu is working fine. When you mention the “about me” page, I presume you’re talking about the “About us” page. This seems to be displaying fine also. When you hover over the menu item, the colous changes as it should. When you are actually viewing that page, the menu is using the ‘current active menu item’ colour, as expected.

As @esmi suggested, if you’re trying to change menu colous, then try using a browser tool like Firebug (for Firefox) or Chrome Developer Tools (for Chrome) to work out what CSS you need to change.

Thank you for your response!! Let me try to help you understand more what i am looking at. By default the theme comes with a black font menu, when you hover over a selected menu item the color will change to blue. Now here is my problem.

If you go to my site aaronrooks.com you will see my home page. All of the menus are black then blue when hovered over them accept for (wedding and Kids) In the menus section of WP i have all of the menu tabs as pages accept for (wedding and Kids). The wedding and kids tabs are custom links. I want all of the drop downs to be custom links so when you click on the parent page ( its Dead )For what ever reason custom menu links do not behave like the page menu tabs.

I am not trying to change color in the CSS file, I only want the menu tabs to be uniform.

    Thanks for you help

At the moment, the custom links that you’ve added for the Weddings and Kids menu items, are links back to the homepage. This is why they’re both blue when you’re viewing the homepage. If you want the links to do nothing when you click on them, then simply add ‘#’ as the custom link, on it’s own.
