So I have some pages that use custom routing and templating and because the pages generated from custom permalink routes, they do not have a post ID and no post meta. Since Yoast stores it’s meta data defined per post (or page or any other post type), is there a way that I can define meta descriptions for these pages as well?

    Hi,

We do know that the Yoast meta box appears for default posts and pages, where you can edit the snippet for the title, meta description and other metadata.

We can’t offer support on custom code (needed to change (core) features of our plugin). Since we don’t want to take the risk that we break your website by suggesting incorrect or incomplete code, we cannot advise you on how to make such changes. Maybe someone watching these forums can assist you further, but if your topic is inactive for 7 days, we’ll mark it as resolved to keep the overview.

    Thank you for your understanding.

So to clarify, if a page is being generated outside of the post/page scope, the plugin is not set up to be able to handle that, correct?

You’re right. We have no workaround available to set SEO meta when the posts or pages are generated outside of the post/page scope.
