Custom Page

  • I am trying to get a custom page to work. The page is called Blog and uses a blog.php file. I create a page called Blog and assign it the Blog template. For Posts page, I choose the Blog page.

    Why does the Blog page use the index.php file instead of blog.php file? What am I doing wrong?

    Because that’s how WordPress works when you create and set a static front page. Your posts page will automatically use your theme’s index.php template file.
