Custom Page Template Featuring One Blog Category

I would like to pull recipes from the blog and display them on a separate page – So the recipes could be read from the blog page AND a recipes ONLY page. I created a custom page template and inserted the page-blog.php content. My selected category is “recipe” but I can’t figure out where to insert it to achieve the desired result or do I use the category number which is 9?
