Custom Page Templates

  • I have tried everywhere but found no answers relating my question. let me make it very clear and simple.

    Go to WordPress Settings>>reading>>

    Static front page : Homepage
    Posts page: Blog

    I have created a page named Homepage using a custom page template called homepage(homepage.php) Which I selected from the dropdown box. Everything fine.

    But instead of using homepage.php WP uses default page.php for Homepage and completely ignores the custom page template(homepage.php) which is selected from the dropdown box. I am using godaddy hosting. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance

  • There may be an issue with your homepage.php custom template file.

    It is selected in the template dropdown box for Homepage page. The same file works fine on Hostgator hosting. It becomes a problem with godaddy. Any file permissions problem? I have heard too much that godaddy messes things up with file permissions.

    Is that your complete template file? If not, drop a copy of the file into the WordPress pastebin and post the pastebin url here. Perhaps someone will be able to spot the problem and suggest a solution.
