• I’m sure I’m not the only one asking this, but…

Has anyone figured out a solid fix for custom permalinks with the newer releases of WP? I had been using 2.8 (or thereabouts) for a while, and I never had problems with it. I even upgraded one of our sites to 3.2.1, and permalinks worked great.

Now, with clean installs (running on LAMP and localhost MAMP), I can’t get any to work.

The custom-permalinks has worked great for me, but I would be willing to give another plugin a try. Thoughts/suggestions?

(I tried the custom-permalinks hotfix a try, to no avail.)

    Thanks!

  • You have to give writable permissions to htaccess.

Is mod_rewrite running on your server?

Our network admin is actually checking on that right now. Figured it might have something to do with that, since it doesn’t even let you change to WP’s other permalinks settings or anything.

So, give writable permissions to htaccess AND install mod_rewrite?

    Thanks much!
