Custom Permalinks not working

  • When typing new pages to my blog that are supposed to be displayed on my media page I have a custom permalink structure that goes something like this.

    /press/%postname%/

    When I write an article the structure of the permalink is writing to the database as a default permalink ?p=33

    What might my problem be. I have installed the AA Rewrite Rules for the blog and it says that it has found mod rewrite for my server. So why would my custom permalinks still be writing as default permalinks in my db?
