Custom post category/taxonomy options

Hey,

I have created a custom post type for my plugin. It works fine but now I would need a possibility to group the different posts of this new type into categories but also specify global settings for each group, at category level.

Grouping on its own is not a problem since I can create a custom taxonomy. The problem is, these custom taxonomies do not take anything else than Name, Slug, Parent and Description as parameters. I would also need Color and Effect, for instance.

Is there a work-around for this?
