    Hello,

Was it a design choice to keep the blog name added even after setting a custom title to a post? I remember the Yoast plugin would remove the blog name when you set a custom title to a post. I liked that feature. Is that not an option and the only way is to remove the blog name in the settings? The only problem with that method is having to re-add the blog title to about pages and other pages with short titles.

    Thanks,
    Dustin

    Hi Dustin,

Yes, it was a design choice. For the very reason that you need to brand your titles.
    Sources: Moz. Google.

Removing the Blog name from the title is considered bad practice, I’ve conducted some tests 6 days ago on this issue.
This test has shown that your Title may be longer than 55 characters with your Blog name, in certain scenarios. It’s still a guideline, which you are free to test :).

Nevertheless its outcome, it will become an option. I’m just not sure when. It was planned for 2.6.0, but it unfortunately didn’t make it.

I’ll keep you updated when I know how and when I’m going to implement it. There’s still a lot more to be done, and I don’t want to clutter the back-end with all kinds of settings (one way does it & decisions, not options).

I hope this clears things up, for now. Have a great day!
