• Dear Michael,

I love your plug-in so far. I do have a a few questions. One would be the Custom Post Type option. I am not familiar with them, but I do know how to create them with a plug-in. I want my publications to be searched with some filters. I have got the Search and Filter Pro plug-in for that. It reads Custom Post Types and that way I can filter between specific CPT.

Is it that simple to just create a CPT using a plug-in and attach the teachPress pages in your settings page to that CPT? Or what would be a good way for this? I’m a bit lost and I want my publications filtered but displayed correctly at the same time.

Another question would be about the BibTex. In the future, we will have publications that do not have a BibTex key. I have not put ‘none’ there, but I would like to not display it on my site at all for those publications, as it is required by your plug-in.

Could you help me out with this one?
    Regards,
    Neo

    Hi Neo,

teachPress doesn’t use custom post types (because the plugin is older as this feature ?? ). So if I understand it right you want make your publications searchable through your blog search? Then you need a plugin which adds shortcode output to the search.
Or you use the publication search from teachpress: [tpsearch]. This can be expanded with filters for author/year/tags/type.

The bibtex key is just used for the bibtex entries because a bibtex key is required there. You can use the generate button in the publication add/edit screen to auto generate them or give them a general value. It doesn’t matter for teachPress.
