Custom Post Type context suggestion

  • Hi. The ability to select the Post Types that appear in the settings dropdown is most useful. Can this setting be made more dynamic – so different post types are searched depending on certain criteria (or templates)?

    For example, search only blog posts or only Knowledge Base custom posts (depending which section you are in / template you are viewing). So, I suppose some way of dynamically updating these Post Type settings in the template would be really handy. Is this currently possible or could it be a useful future addition?

    One feature I’ve been toying with adding is the ability to create multiple instances of the autocomplete that each have their own unique settings. Then you could have one field that searches posts and another that only searches taxonomies. It’s probably something that would be a 3.0 release feature as it would significantly alter the admin experience for this plugin.
