Custom post type in latest posts block

Hi all, I use custom post types on my website. These CPTs are used for creating a tutorial in which the posts can be hierarchical (just like pages), but also have the features of a regular post. That works well for me, but there’s a problem.

I’d like to list the latest tutorial articles on my front page. All the blocks and widgets I tried, focus on posts and have no option to select a custom post type.

I was looking at the code of the latest posts block, and I’m guessing it’s not too hard to create a custom block based on that, which allows selecting a post type.

Before I would do that, I’d like to ask if there’s an easier way. Something I’m overlooking, perhaps?
