Custom Post Type – Page Selection

    Hi guys, thanks again for the fantastic plugin. I like to use the custom post type block on many pages. Usually for child pages of a page or post types on a given page. However, sometimes it would be VERY useful to be able to select pages by a given taxonomy too. Please will you allow pages (and not just posts) to be selected by taxonomy (in exactly the same way you can for posts). It’s fairly straightforward to add taxonomies to pages so this would be a very useful feature.

    If not that approach, perhaps selection by an ACF attribute?

    I only ask for this as the selection by ID is so monotonous (and not something clients find easy to cope with).

    Hi @jamieplexus,
    Thanks for your request. By default, there are no taxonomies for Pages in WordPress. As an option we may review the possibility to add sorting option by custom fields. I’ve added your request to our list of features and we will notify you when we have any news.

    As a follow-up to this. In the cases where a user is specifying the IDs of the pages, could there not be a ‘Native Order’ option where it simply loads the pages in the order of the IDs given?

    Good morning Dmytro,

    OK, so say you had four pages with IDs 1,2,3,4. But you wanted 4 first so you would select ‘Native Order’ and enter the IDs for the Custom Post Type as 4,1,2,3.

    Hi @jamieplexus,
    Thanks for your explanation. There are other controls to sort the posts. You might need to set Order value for post ‘4’ to make it appear the first one.
