Hello. I have issue with Custom posts parrenting.
For each post type i created post.
At post edition i have “Page attributes” meta box with parrenting selection, but only with current custom post posts to select.

    Question:
Can i select parrent from other custom post type?

    For example:
I have CP named “Services” and have post “Internet”, other CP named “Packs” and posts “Basic”,”Advance” with childs “Basic_1″,”Basic_2” and “Advance_1″… etc.
I want select for post “Basic” parrent post “Internet”

    Tnx.

No and yes all at the same time.

From a UI perspective, WordPress doesn’t provide anything to specify posts from other post types. Thus why you’re seeing what you’re seeing there.

Yes to a degree because in the wp_posts table, the only thing that associates a parent is the post’s numeral ID. “42” for example.

I have never played around with the topic enough to see if a manual change like that has any side effects or unintended consequences.

As an alternative, I am wondering if https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/posts-to-posts/ could maybe suit your needs as well, but I won’t make any guarantees there.

It’s needed only for breadcrumbs realizaton… I can use category instead but i dont want mess with archives pages.
If that plugin wouldn’t help, i’ll try classic method – link redirection ??
    Tnx.

Gotcha on use case, and wish there was some better way with this.
