Custom post type, prevent new post & post deletion

  • Hi,

    I am using wordpress as a CMS, I have created some custom post types that act as different sections for the site.

    One custom post type called ‘Info’ only has one post. It will never need more, only one which can be edited, but not deleted. Is there a way to prevent new posts for this particular custom post type and also prevent this one post being deleted? I’ve had a good rummage in the codex and on other sites but can’t find anything to do with this.

  • Bump! Anybody have thoughts on this. I have a similar need. I have custom posts that are created/deleted through an external system and pulled into wordpress. Thus any user role (whether Subscriber or Admin) should not be able to delete or add a custom post type entry through the WP system. They will need to edit some info via WP.
