• Hi Zapier and WP Community,

I think it is great that Zappier has created this plugin to streamline the handshake between the WordPress REST API and Zapier so we can all connect with many other applications without code.

I have four different custom post-types on my site which I created with CPT UI. My post types are obviously set to “Yes” in “make available in API” and I entered WP_REST_POST_Controller as the controller (understanding that is the standard way to connect the content, unless you make your own controller).

My custom-post-types show up in Zapier, but the content fields don’t. Just the post type and nothing more.

I am have searched both the CPT UI documentation as well as the Zapier documentation and WordPress API documentation and most of it is above my skill level and make me feel like I have to learn understand code and the inner workings of WordPress, which kind of defeats the purpose of using Zapier as a solution NOT to have to learn/ understand all this.

So what am I doing wrong? Or what am I not doing what I should be doing to make this work?

Update: I was able to move forward with my project by diving in and learning how to achieve doing it by myself. I am using WordPress Auth-app-plugin to handle the “handshake” with my database application, but I understand that WordPress is working on making this part of its core.

With lots of these things, when you are an early adapter, things are harder to achieve. My guess is that over time, Zapier and its competitors and/or WordPress will make things easier.

All I can say from a personal point of view that I am disappointed with the lack of commitment from Zapier at this moment.
