That’s an awesome question! I will look into that ASAP. The sending of messages to Facebook is triggered by the save_post action. If save_post is called for all post types, not just the built-in ones, then it would work for custom post types, provided you did a bit of configuration ahead of time.

I’ll look into it, and if it does work, I’ll make that one of the first things I put in the documentation.

Thanks! That would be great. I work on a website that has books and writers as separate Custom Post Types. I would like to announce the new books and newly-added writers on Facebook automatically the same way I announce the regular News posts.

Having trouble on step 2. When connecting to Facebook, it just tries to connect and then gets hung up. No error message given.

@creativefield That happens when the domain you use to access your WordPress installation does not match the one you provided when setting up your Facebook application. Please check to see that the two are the same, and then let me know if you still can’t connect. Thanks for trying Sharepress!

Thanks – got it to work!

I do have another question, though. If you have a main facebook profile and have multiple pages, can you connect your blog to one of the pages instead of the profile? And, if so, how?

@creativefield The feature you want is in the Pro version of Sharepress. We’re working hard to get it out the door. If you want to know when it’s ready, register at this site: https://sharepress.fatpandadev.com

    Collegeman,

Any update on how to use SharePress with Custom Post Types? I am trying to combine it with Events Calendar Pro https://tri.be/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/

It would be nice if there were a field in the SharePress settings (maybe comma-delimited) of the Custom Post types you would like to have SharePress work with

If there’s a way to hack it I will need to do so in the mean time

Thanks for your great work, love the plugin

@sjlevy I’m sorry I missed your comment. I’ll look into implementing this feature of the weekend. Thanks for the request!
