Custom Post Types can't be found

Does the Search Everything work with custom post types? I found a thread on this forum from 5 years ago that says NOT, but I’m hoping that’s old news…
I’m using WordPress Download Manager Pro and the packages (custom post type) are not showing up in my search results.
Has anyone had this issue?
