Custom post types not showing up in index page

Hello members,

I downloaded a wordpress theme and i want to modify it a bit. Simply there are three columns and i wanted one more same as the first one. I copied all the options and files from the first column (with changed names of course). In the dashboard i do get the options for the theme and the options for posting the custom post types, but when something is posted, nothing is showing up on the index page. I checked the wordpress forum but none of the topic offered me a solution. Any guidelines?
