Custom Post Types – Promoted Content Not Appearing for Monetization

I have a custom post type for a directory type WordPress site. The Related Posts is working fine for these custom post type posts. However Promoted Content never appears. I set the Monetization settings to Medium with 6 boxes of related content below the post and all 6 show related posts from my site. If I change the Monetization settings to MAX, the same results – zero promoted posts/ads appears.

Is this a limitation with Shareaholic? If so, can you provide a code snippet that I can insert into the custom post type template so the promoted content does appear? Or if a bug can you please fix. Thanks for your help…
