Wordpress 6.1.1 with twenty twenty two theme.
Perhaps this is very elementary, but I can’t find out. I am using a static page as homepage and want to create a custom page to display the blog posts. I think I have to use the Index template for that page. So I modified the Index template using a query loop that fits my needs. But the Index template is not offered for selection when I try to assign a template to my page. How can I assign the Index template to my custom page?

Found out. There is no need to assign a template at all. If a static page is defined as homepage, then the template “Home” is automatically assigned to the page that is defined as posts page. And not the template “Index”, as one might have expected from the description of the “Index” template (Index: Displays posts)
