    Hi!

I have just installed your plugin. I copied the contributor role into a new one name “student”. I added to this one the “modify published articles” right, but when I log on with a user assigned to the student role, I cannot edit published articles, but only see them as for the contributor role.

    Could you help me?

Here is the list of my installed plugins:

In general, for custom post type ‘article’ this user capability should be ‘edit_published_articles’, not ‘modify’ one.

    Sorry, it was a miswriting.

    I checked “edit_published_posts”.

    Could you help me?

    Many thx!

I re-tested your scenario. User with Contributor role with ‘edit_published_posts’ can edit published posts where this user is an author.
Some other plugin may block this. Try to deactivate temporally all plugins and re-check. Then you may activate them back one by one and test to isolate a problem.

Hi, I have followed your suggestion, disabled all my plugins, but it still does not work. I can only show articles with student profile.

Is student the author of those articles? If he does not, ‘edit_others_posts’ capability is required.

Thank you for your answer, I try to explain me better, sorry! ??

All articles have been created on my own (Admnistrator profile).

Now, I have to teach some guys in charge of future articles publishing.

I have created, by your plugin, a Student profile copying the Collaborator profile, and added the ability to edit articles created by other/me (edit_others_posts).

When I logon with an account owned by the Student group, I go to the articles list, but I get only the Show link in place of the modify one.

    Thank you ??

I’m trying, but I cannot embed links.

Could you send me an email to “antonio.petricca AT gmail.com” so I can answer to you with the image attachmnent?

    Thank you!

As you explained by mail, I added the “edit_others_posts” right and now it works.

    Thnak you!
