• I need to create a custom role so I can assign this role to affiliates who will be registering on the site – I’ve installed this plugin but I am unable to create a custom role under User Role Editor – Options. I’ve checked all options but nowhere this custom role can be created (General, Additional Modules, Default Roles, Tools). Plus when I go to my affiliate plugin and try to review & approve a new affiliate I don’t get an option there under “Role” to create a new role and assign this newly created role to the new affiliate.

    Your input is appreciated.

Go to “Users->User Role Editor”. Use “Add Role” button.

Thanks @shinephp – it was not visible at first sight as had to click on “All” under group in order for the “Add role” button to appear but created the new custom role which is good – thanks!

On more question, this is the requirement: a person to sign up to the affiliate program via a form, interest is received, application is reviewed and before approving it, a payment of $25 needs to be made by the person who wants to become part of the program. What would be the best way to achieve this?

    – I’ve created a custom role called “Affiliate” – which is a copy of the “Customer” role which is what I noticed was assigned by this plugin on a test that I did registering myself as an affiliate.
    – Now I need to make payment in order for my application as an affiliate to be approved.
    – Please note also that payment of $25 needs to be made once every year in order for “affiliate” status to remain active.

    Thanks!

Look at the memberships plugins like “Paid Memberships Pro” and similar. I suppose you may find a ready to use solution.
