Custom roles in workflows

Hi There-

I wanted to get more information about roles as it relates to workflows. I have tried a few different plugins recommended from your website.

Which references two plugins to use to create and or modify the existing roles within a wordpress site.

I have tried all three of these and when I try to create a new workflow none of my new roles show up as an option to choose from in the assignee field.

Is it not possible to extend this to use secondary or additional roles? I don’t really like the fact that I have to modify the core roles to create workflows. Is there another alternative or step I am missing?
