Custom search and search results for custom post types?

  • Hi there. Can this plugin provide a separate, custom search and results page limited to a custom post type? Say I have a custom post type for a simple catalog/list of products. I need a search that queries ONLY those catalog items with a custom results page (different layout, sidebar than the default). It needs to be separate from the primary site search (which also needs to be powerful/filterable/etc). Is that possible?

    Yes, you can build different searches. It all works on the same index, but you can build separate searches that use different filters. You can have the general site search exclude the custom post type and then have another search that only targets that one post type.

    Relevanssi won’t do the templates and result pages for you, that’s something you need to build yourself.
