Custom shipping based on user origin

    Ideally, we would like to have a store with a single product (the product is a shipping service, we ship specialty items) and would like to use the UPS live rates plugin from Woo. The customer would enter the ship from address and the ship to address which would calculate the shipping cost. We have been unsuccessful in trying to find an existing plugin that does this, or any documentation at all.

    Essentially, the user would go to the site and select either “ship now” or “get quote”. The ship now option would add the product to the cart and take them to the checkout page, where they would enter shipping origin and destination to calculate the shipping rate. They could then complete payment. The get quote option would just take them to the form to enter shipping origin and destination and provide them with a quote and the option to make the purchase.

    Any insight or links to documentation etc that might accomplish this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    From what I gather, this is essentially about enabling requests for quotes, allowing for price calculations, for a service. With the service being shipping of specialty items. Correct?

    I’d recommend taking a look at Request a Quote for WooCommerce (linked here), and Quote for WooCommerce (linked here), in order to let users add shop products to quote & get a price estimation.
