    Disabled all other plugins – reinstalled Custom Sidebars …

    No effect – The Footers show up as usual, but no sidebar on pages.

    Hey @worels,

    I hope you’re well today!

    First, thank you for plugin conflict test. Also, I tested the plugin on my test site and it works normally. So probably there is a site-specific issue. Can you explain what are you referring while saying “not working”? Is the admin side working but it does not change the sidebars on the frontend? Or are you seeing any error?

    Can you enable WordPress debug logging? You just need to edit your wp-config.php file and place these codes;

    /* Debug Settings */
    define('WP_DEBUG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false);
    /* End of Debug Settings */

    Then try custom sidebars again and see the problem again. After that check the wp-content folder, is there a debug.log file? If yes can you share the content with us?

    One more thing, can you try with the default theme(Twenty Seventeen)? If it’s working with default theme we can say that there is some kind of conflict with the theme. And if it’s a free theme, can you share the URL with me? So I can test that theme too.

    Cheers,
    Oguz

    First of all: Tnx for you reply
    .. I’m using Twenty Seventeen (site and wp in german language)
    https://www.michael-elstner.at

    “Not working” means, that the custom SIdebars are nor showing up since update to new WP-Version.
    The Footers do show up, but not the Sidebars.
    The widget-part of Custom Sidebars works also a bit weird. If you edit a sidebar – it occurs that a stop-sign shows up when you try to store, but it stores anyway …)

    Can I modify the wp-config.php file within WP ?
    When I try to put the code in the file and upload it via ftp, an error occurs:
    ** 550 wp-config.php: Keine Berechtigung ** (no authorization)

    Funny thing …
    There is no “get_currentuserinfo” or ” wp_get_current_user()” in functions.php anyway …

    I was having a similar issue to that of worels (sidebars were showing up as footers) but it went away after I removed and reinstalled the plug-in.

    However, I am still having another issue: I can no longer define a page as having NO sidebars (i.e. full width page.) Thoughts?

    You are lucky – I tried 2 times to remove and re-install the plugin, but I have still no sidebar …
    Obviously WP remembers the defined custom – sidebars, maybe so it “remembers” the error also … Is there a way to completely remove the plugin after having saved the sidebars and make a clean install of the plugin and then load the sidebars manually – maybe that helps ….

    Hello @worels

    Hope you’re doing well!

    The notices from the debug.log are not very helpful. These are not affecting the site’s functions.

    Please check the below options just to make sure the plugin is set up correctly. If the sidebar is set to replace theme’s Blog Sidebar please make sure that “Allow this sidebar to be replaced” is checked:

    Tick the same option for Footer 1 and Footer 2, if the sidebar needs to be replaced in the Footer.

    Check the sidebar location, make sure that the post type where the sidebar should appear is selected

    If these are set up right. Would you please export the sidebars and upload the export file here? Please see the screenshot:

    Kind regards,
    Nastia

    Hi
    All your proposals were already as you intended, except of the posttype option. I changed this for two sidebar-sets, but it didn’t make any difference. Hence it worked before, without this option, simply by defining it in the page-section I rechanged it, also because of the fact, that the footers work, without this option.
    File will be uploaded …

    Additional Information: When I Change Theme to 20/16 or 20/15 the sidebar appears ..
    Only in 20/17 it doesn’t appear …

    Hey @worels,

    Hope you’re well.

    Is there any difference between the homepage and single post page? Did you try to set as an archive type like this;

    Also, you can upload file anywhere and share a link with us to download.

    Hey @jwilliams2017,

    According to WordPress forum rules creating your own thread is better option;

    Unless users have the exact same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme, and configurations, then the odds are the solution for one user will not be the same for another. For this reason, we recommend people start their own topics.

    Are you using the same default WordPress theme (Twenty Seventeen)? When you deactivate the Custom Sidebars plugin is problem looks solved?

    I dont see any use of this option, because I use CustomSB on Static Pages without posts …
    As I wrote… it works on other Themes but not on Twenty Seventeen – But that‘s the one its created for ….
    But not only the custom SB‘s not working – If CSb is enabled, also the standard BlogSB doesnt appear on other pages except Blog. But footers do…

    Ok, here are the sidebars …
