Custom Sidebars Not Working

Hi

I’m using a custom theme on my site from Chimeratheme.com. And custom sidebars don’t seem to be working. I’ve followed every instruction to the letter on many attempts and still nothing. However, the default sidebar is working fine and on the widget page there are four sidebars entitled footer columns (Footer Column 1.. Footer Column 2..etc) which only appear here and which I can’t find any other reference to. For example, there isn’t a check box option in the pages edit areas, as there is with default sidebars and custom sidebars, so, they can’t be used as sidebars. And I can’t delete them.

Does anyone have any idea what they are and how can I delete them? And is there a possibility that these things are stopping my custom sidebars from working?
