• Hello,

I am trying to use a custom sort on the category pages, but it is being ignored.

I have the woo product Default Product Sorting set to Default Sorting (custom ordering and name)

In the admin, I’ve dragged and dropped my products to be in the order I want, yet the page displays differently. I cannot tell what the sort is. I have tried changing the
Woo Default Product Sorting to any of the others, and nothing changes on the page.

Is something in the theme blocking this?

    Any help is appreciated. https://youngfreshandshameless.com/women/

    thank you, Kim

Both the theme and the woo commerce are up to date.

I just tested this on my site and am not experiencing this. Did you clear your site’s cache after making the changes in product order?

If the cache doesn’t work then I would begin testing your active plugins by going through and deactivating one at a time, trying to set the order of the products every time you have a plugin deactivated.

In particular, I would look to any plugin that involves WooCommerce.

Let me know if this makes a difference.

    Hi Kevin,

Thank you for the guidance. I was able to resolve the sorting issue.
Did I mention I just inherited this website?.

The page displaying the listing was NOT a category shop page, it was a page with a short code. The short code needed to be updated. Now my sort is working as expected.

I have one other issue, somewhat related.

Is there any option in the theme, that would affect showing the ability to select a variation on the category listing? I have a feeling it is being hidden, but I cannot see how to fix that.

    Thank You,
    Kim

Just to be sure I’m understanding, do you mean being able to select the product variation, as well as add it to the cart, from the product listing page?

There is nothing built in that offers this functionality, but there may be a plugin.

You could also try this function in a child theme’s functions.php file:
    https://www.thathandsomebeardedguy.com/allow-customers-to-select-variations-on-the-shop-page/

I haven’t tested that so I can’t say for sure whether or not it will work though.

If you’re unfamiliar with child themes, you can read about them and download one from here:
