Custom tax – Show hierarchy

Has there been any update on adding this functionality into the plugin? When using the shortcode [wp_sitemap_page only=”custom_taxonomy”] a hierarchical taxonomy terms are shown as a flat list
As per the thread below, there is a workaround but it will be overwritten with each plugin update.
