Custom Taxonomies

hello i am using this theme https://themeforest.net/item/lore-elegant-knowledge-base-wordpress-theme/16965024
it doesnt use the normal post type categories it uses a custom plugin in their theme “Adds Knowledge Base Article custom post type” so i was wondering how i could get this to work?
ive tried using the Category IDS,slugs and cant figure it out.
