The post above “example attraction new” (where attractions is a CPT) has a custom taxonomy of “attraction type”. This “example attraction new” has entries in the custom taxonomy – Museums, Outdoor Adventures, Parks and Gardens, Sacred Places. It’s the only post in the attractions CPT. But, when I click on those in the sidebar, they’re empty, and I can also see on that individual post they’re not showing under the “Filed Under…”

If you hover over the taxonomy terms in the sidebar though, you do see that they each have 1 item, which is this post.

Any idea why this post does have these entries in the taxonomy but isn’t displaying it when clicked? It is attached to “Attractions”, and in the Attactions CPT, the Attraction Types is a Built In Taxonomy.

This is my first time using the plugin. LOVE it.

What are you using to display the content in the sidebar? Widget? specific function? Asking so I can check on whatever it is and make sure we don’t need to tell it about custom taxonomies so that it knows they exist. Same thing with the way you’re showing them under the posts.

The content in the sidebar is the standard WP Tags cloud widget that ships with WP, and I’ve chosen the Taxonomy Attraction Types.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. Thank you for YOUR quick reply!

If I’m in the actual Taxomony itself within the Dashboard, and try to click on the generated “Popular Attraction Types” (or, in other words, the most commonly used terms), those also lead to error pages (invalid taxonomy). But, if I click on them in the listings which include Name, Description, Slug, … I do not have any problems.

Not sure, I can’t recreate any “for sure” 404 errors. Just as a “what if” have you refreshed permalinks after creating these? I believe the plugin should, but it never hurts to manually do it just in case. Just visit the permalinks page to do that. Don’t need to hit save.

I did try resetting the permalinks but that didn’t work. Based on the tool tip in the ? on the Taxonomy name, and a similar thread, I thought I’d try changing the name of my taxomony to all lowercase, with no spaces. In this example, it was previously Attraction Types.

I changed that, then reset the permalinks and it resolved. I’ve marked this thread as resolved.

Thanks for this plugin, btw. It’s really great.

Aha, that’d do it. It’s also something I have noted on screen in 0.8, or at least it SHOULD be.

Good to hear the issue was resolved.

Yeah. It totally does. In clear, BOLD letters right under the box where you enter taxonomy name.

    ??

What can I say? Guess I was so excited the night I installed it I missed it. ??
