Custom Template

  • Just wondering if anyone has had any success creating a custom template for this. The instructions are pretty vague and following those the custom template (without modifying the splash.php file) doesn’t work.

    I just duplicated the existing template, the removed the footer.php, header.php, and video.js files as it says the aren’t needed for the customer template to work. That doesn’t seem to be the case.

    All I want to do is to add my own CSS and two buttons. One to continue to the site like it does now (with my style changes to the button) and another for a FB Page button which would have a different URL instead of the php variable ‘current_url’ that is defined.

    Has anyone done this?

    Well, I have this working to what I needed. Should anyone else be looking for the same feature. I had to change the styles.css page, header.php and the splash-page.php.

    To do this I made a copy of the default template folder and all it’s contents. The instructions say you only need the splash-page.php and the styles.css to create your own template but that’s bs.

    The change to the header.php page was to move the background image away from the top of the screen. When it’s centered using the options for the plugin the image is placed at the top of the screen which isn’t that great.

    The majority of changes were in the style.css page with respect to the styling.

    The buttons I needed were added to the splash-page.php into a div tag.

    I still don’t like that it uses a background-image for the splash page but with my additions and changes it does as I wanted it to do. It’s unfortunate this isn’t’ a supported plugging as it has some really good potential for a simple splash page, something that word press users are constantly looking for.
