    Hi,

In previous versions it was possible to define the link text as follow:
    [read more=”Read more” less=”Read less”] …. [/read]

It would be really nice, to be able to override text with this syntax.
There are many cases where it would be useful, depending on the text type or language.

    Thanks

    Hello.

Old shortcode’s attributes have been added to the dynamically assigned plugin’s options found at the plugin’s menu item (wp-admin area).

Thus, they are not needed at all at shortcode’s syntax and you can just use: [read more] Your long text [/read]

    Thank you George! ??
Too bad, we cannot customize or localize pages individually any more.
I hope it will be possible again in future versions.
Perhaps I need to replace with another plugin.

You can still use an older version of the plugin if you like and this way, you would be able to set texts in a static way – there wont be any security risks.

    Cheers!

We would like to see this feature added to a future version.

We want to be able to set the default “read more” and “read less” text via the plugin, but override that as needed each time we use the shortcode.

    Thanks for the upvote. Noted.

I agree that it would be incredibly useful to be able again to override the default “read more” and “read less” with custom text (not only once for all, but also each time the shortcode is used if needed).
In regard to this, in addition it would be extremely helpful to add some shortcode syntax to do the same not just for the text, but also for the background colour, text colour and all the other options which are available. This would be very appreciated by many users.
Thank you George for the truly amazing work!
