Custom text field not showing up when set to view all the time

    I have set up a custom text filed with “Only visible to profile owner and admins” permission and visibility “View everywhere” but the field does not show until I am in edit mode…? why

    Hi @waynep16,

    Do you have any caching plugins installed or server side caching active on your site?
    What version of the Ultimate member you have installed?
    Please try to do a conflict test so we can rule out theme/plugin conflicts and see if this issue goes away.
    Here is the doc on how to do a conflict test if you are not sure.

    Using the new v2 but the error was also apparent on v1… no cache plugin on, no. I just can’t get the custom field to show for me no matter what setting I try.

    BUT I think I worked out why … its because the field is empty AND set to required….

    So, therefore, nothing shows if the user hasnt filled it in yet (because its blank)

    maybe we need an option to stil show fields which are not yet completed?

    I managed to overcome this issue by putting a space inside the default value of the field so the system things there is entry in to the text box, this then makes the fields show.
