Custom theme localy fine, broke on server

  • I developed a custom theme localy (wordpress 5.8) and all works fine, but when I upload the theme in the AWS server (wordpress 5.6) and activate it, shown this message:
    “There was a critical error on your website. Please check your site administration email inbox for instructions.”
    If I remove the functions.php inside the theme, the site is load but with the layout broke (none CSS) and no menu created. I tested the theme in other hosting (cPanel hosting) and works perfect. What can be the problem?
